WhatsApp’s beta updates are designed to introduce new functionalities or enhance existing ones for testers before they reach the general user base. The latest beta version of its Android app now includes the capability to create AI-generated stickers via user prompts, marking the first implementation of artificial intelligence in a feature available to WhatsApp users. In parallel, WhatsApp Web’s beta version is launching a new security measure aimed at safeguarding user chats when the screen is unattended.
Beta testers who update to WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.14 will have the opportunity to create and share these AI-generated stickers. According to WABetaInfo, a feature tracking website, users will be able to access this new functionality through the stickers tab by selecting the new Create button.
With this feature, users will encounter a pop-up titled Create AI stickers, which allows them to enter text prompts in a designated field labeled Describe your sticker. An example prompt, “cat laughing on a skateboard,” will guide users as they create their sticker, though the image provided by WABetaInfo does not include actual generated sticker examples.
Additionally, the messaging platform has rolled out a new security feature in the most recent beta version of WhatsApp Web, designated 2.2333.11. This enhancement enables users to secure their WhatsApp Web access with a password, preventing unauthorized entry when away from their device. Users will need to remember their chosen password, or they will have to log out and log back in to regain access to the web interface.
This password protection feature is being made available to select testers using the latest WhatsApp Web beta. It can be activated under the WhatsApp Settings option, followed by Privacy. Once a password is established, it will be required for every login attempt, and users will not receive push notifications until they have successfully entered their password, as noted by the feature tracker.
