Palworld, the popular action-adventure survival game that set player-count records on platforms like Steam and Xbox since its release in January, may soon be coming to the PS5. Although developer Pocketpair has yet to officially announce a PlayStation version, hints from a community manager suggest that fans could see the game on Sony’s console in the near future. Currently, Palworld is available for PC and Xbox, with access also offered through Game Pass.

The global community manager at Pocketpair hinted at a possible PlayStation release through a recent post on their X account (@Bucky_cm). On Sunday, they shared a message that included blue heart emojis, adding to the existing green ones, which could imply an expansion to other gaming platforms. While the green hearts represent Xbox, blue is often associated with PlayStation.

While the post does not directly mention PlayStation, it hints at the potential for the game to be available on additional platforms, thereby incorporating the blue emoji.

However, neither Pocketpair nor Sony has made any formal announcements regarding a PS4 or PS5 release for Palworld. In January, Shuhei Yoshida, who oversees independent titles at PlayStation, responded positively to a fan inquiry about a PS5 version on X, simply saying “Yes.”

Palworld made its early access debut on January 19 and can be played on PC (via Steam) as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, and is also included in the Xbox Game Pass. The game features creatures reminiscent of Pokémon, known as Pals, which players can capture and train for combat, exploration, and base-building in its expansive open world.

Since launch, Palworld has gained immense popularity, boasting over 25 million players on PC and Xbox, with more than 15 million copies sold on Steam.

Nonetheless, the game has faced accusations of plagiarism, with critics arguing that Palworld’s creature design bears an unsettling resemblance to that of Pokémon. The Pokémon Company addressed the situation in January, announcing intentions to investigate any reported instances of copyright infringement related to the new title.
