Sony has unveiled the lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in July. Members will be able to enjoy the looter shooter Borderlands 3, the sports simulation NHL 24, and the popular multiplayer party game Among Us. These titles will be accessible to PS Plus members across all tiers—Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium—beginning July 2.
According to an announcement made on the PlayStation Blog on Wednesday, subscribers can download the monthly offerings without any additional fee. The free games will remain available until August 6, during which time players can add them to their libraries and continue to access them as long as they maintain an active PS Plus subscription. Furthermore, July will also feature a Genshin Impact in-game reward bundle, available starting July 16.
The PS Plus games available in June, which include SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever, and Streets of Rage 4, can still be downloaded until July 1. Here’s a closer look at July’s PS Plus game offerings:
Borderlands 3
Leading the lineup for July is Borderlands 3, a sci-fi looter shooter that allows players to select from one of four available character classes. Gamers can engage in solo play or team up in four-player co-op mode as they embark on chaotic quests, tackle bounties, and discover an array of guns and gear. Players can upgrade their characters and unlock new skills while progressing through the storyline and completing side quests. In this installment, players assume the roles of Vault Hunters on a mission to thwart a deranged cult. The game supports split-screen co-op and is available on both PS4 and PS5.
NHL 24
After the addition of EA Sports FC 24 in May, NHL 24 will be the next sports title to join the PS Plus collection. This ice hockey simulation features refined gameplay mechanics and new systems aimed at delivering an authentic hockey experience. A fresh total control skill moves system enables players to execute intricate tricks with a single button press. Additionally, the game introduces a revamped passing and body checking system that enhances the overall realism of the gameplay. NHL 24 will be available on both PS4 and PS5.
Among Us
Completing this month’s offerings is Among Us, an online multiplayer social deduction game that gained significant popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this party game, players must complete various tasks while trying to identify the imposter among them, who seeks to sabotage their efforts. Among Us will be offered on both PS4 and PS5.
This month, Sony also disclosed additional titles entering the PS Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Deluxe/Premium subscribers, including Monster Hunter Rise, FM 2024, and Crusader Kings III, among others.
