OnePlus is preparing to expand its Ace 5 series with the introduction of two new variants. The series, which debuted in China in December 2024, features the standard OnePlus Ace 5 and the Ace 5 Pro. Soon, these will be joined by the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and the Ace 5 Ultra, as hinted at by the company in recent promotional materials that also highlight the specifications of these upcoming models. Notably, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will be among the first to utilize the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset.
Launch Details for OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and Ultra
OnePlus has announced via a Weibo post that the launch date for the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and the OnePlus Ace 5 “Extreme Edition” is set for next week, between May 19 and May 25. The exact date for the unveiling is expected to be confirmed shortly.
The device referred to as the “Extreme Edition” in China is anticipated to be marketed internationally as the Ace 5 Ultra. This model will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC, with expectations that it will enhance the industry’s gaming performance.
On the other hand, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will showcase the new 4nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, making it one of the first smartphones to adopt this technology alongside the Indian version of the Realme GT 7, which is due for release on May 27. The pricing for the OnePlus Racing Edition is expected to be under CNY 2,500 (approximately Rs. 29,700).
Pre-reservations for the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and the Ace 5 Ultra are now available in China through the Oppo China e-store and select online retailers. Both devices will come pre-loaded with Android 15-based ColorOS 15.
For comparison, the existing OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Edition chipset, respectively.
