Google has introduced a series of subtle modifications to the design of its AI chatbot, Gemini, affecting both its web interface and Android app. Though these updates are minor, they enhance the user experience by improving accessibility and presenting more pertinent information. On the web platform, the text input area has been revamped, and certain icons have been rearranged for better usability. In the Android application, users will now see model information prominently displayed, along with the addition of the Saved Info menu, which allows the chatbot to retain user-specific information introduced last month.
Google Gemini App Now Displays AI Model Information
The web version of Gemini has been redesigned to better align with its mobile counterpart. The adjustment primarily affects the text input field, which before had the Upload Images icon (available for free users) or the Plus icon (meant for Gemini Advanced subscribers) positioned on the right side. This icon now appears on the left side first, next to the newly repositioned “Ask Gemini” text, while the microphone icon occupies the far left. While seemingly minor, this change contributes to a cleaner appearance and minimizes accidental taps.

Meanwhile, adjustments to the Android app include a visible display of the AI model information at the top of the interface. Users will notice the designation Gemini Advanced followed by the label 1.5 Pro, indicating the operational model as Gemini 1.5 Pro. This information is situated between the history and account menus. For Pixel devices, this label is updated to Gemini 1.5 Flash. Once a user starts interacting with the chatbot, the Gemini Advanced text is condensed to just “1.5 Pro,” a detail first noted by 9to5Google.
Additionally, the account menu now includes the Saved Info option, which directs users to a Saved info website when selected, opening in a browser window.
