As of now, it appears that Adorama may soon be out of stock of the latest DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone. However, when this report was prepared, the US-based retailer still had approximately 70 units available for purchase, despite expectations that the drone would not be released in the United States at this time.
Earlier today, reports indicated that DJI had decided to forgo a US launch of its most advanced drone yet, with Trump’s tariffs being one of the factors influencing this decision. Notably, DJI did not supply the Mavic 4 Pro to American reviewers nor provide pricing information for the US market.
Contrary to this news, both Adorama and B&H, two competing camera retailers based in New York City, seemed uninformed about DJI’s plans.
Today, both retailers listed the drone priced at $2,699, while the Fly More Kit was offered at $3,549 and the Creator Combo, which includes an upgraded controller with a 1600-nit screen and folding sticks, was priced at $4,649. Notably, the standalone controller is available for $1,299. B&H even distributed a press release announcing the drone’s availability.
B&H is currently taking preorders; a representative in the drone department, Miguel Perez, confirmed, “we don’t yet have it in stock,” though he was uncertain when new shipments would arrive. He described the logistics as a “grey area” between the US and China and clarified that the store does not charge customers until their orders are shipped. Furthermore, he noted that other retailers like Adorama are selling the drone this week.
Steve Chill, a sales representative at Adorama, confirmed this information over the phone, indicating a rapid sales pace. “We initially had a few hundred in stock, and we’re now down to 70,” he stated. “They’ll likely be sold out by tomorrow.”
During the conversation, Chill mentioned availability of the $3,549 Fly More Combo, but noted a shortage of the $2,699 base model. At the time of inquiry, Adorama’s website indicated that the basic model would ship next week, but it has since reverted to a preorder status. Nonetheless, the new DJI RC Pro 2 controller appears to be available.
The situation surrounding the drone’s stock remains unclear. It raises questions about whether DJI shipped a limited number of units to the US in anticipation of a full launch. A spokesperson for DJI, Daisy Kong, has not provided additional insights yet.
