Vivo is set to launch the V50 Elite Edition in India, with the official unveiling date confirmed along with a teaser featuring the device’s rear camera design. In contrast to the current Vivo V50, which has a pill-shaped camera module, the new Elite Edition is expected to showcase a circular rear camera setup. This variant is anticipated to retain most of the features found in its standard counterpart. Additionally, the Vivo V50e was introduced in India earlier this year in April.
Upcoming Launch of Vivo V50 Elite Edition in India
The Vivo V50 Elite Edition is scheduled for launch on May 15 at 12 PM IST, as confirmed by the company in a post on X. An accompanying video shows the phrase “Elite Edition” inscribed on the back panel, positioned just beneath the rear camera module. This design choice marks a departure from the pill-shaped camera arrangement seen in the standard Vivo V50.
No further details about the Vivo V50 Elite Edition have been disclosed at this time. The teaser caption hints at a device that promises to deliver “sound that surrounds and portraits that captivate — this is more than just a phone.”
It is expected that the Vivo V50 Elite Edition will share many specifications with the original Vivo V50. The new edition may feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, a robust 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging, a dual rear camera system co-engineered with Zeiss that boasts a 50-megapixel main sensor, and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Vivo V50 is reported to possess IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It features a 6.77-inch full-HD+ quad-curved AMOLED display, boasting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The device runs on Android 15-based FuntouchOS 15 and supports configurations of up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Upon its initial release, the Vivo V50 was priced at Rs. 34,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, Rs. 36,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, and Rs. 40,999 for the 12GB + 512GB version. The phone is available in three color options: Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey.
